Diztrict Launch Party

It’s official ladies and gents, the Diztrict store has launched in the West Village area. Just another reason why the West Village is one of the most trendiest diztricts in NYC. The launch party took place on March 18th and was the place to be. Some of the most trendiest people in NYC stopped by, Jane Frampton from Elle magazine, Fred Marfil from Complex magazine, Shoshanna Fischhoff from Women’s Wear Daily, Rachel LeWinter from Time Out New York, and Tim Yap from Sportswear International. They all came to check out one of the coolest accessory stores in NYC, that carries everything from Kid Robot, Nooka, Tokidoki, Paul Frank sunglasses, and of course EOS NY watches.

Everyone who stopped by the launch party represented their diztrict, and used the Diztrict push-pin to put creativity at its best. I must say this was one of the best launch parties I’ve been to. Cool people, the hottest products in the market, free cosmos, and Diztrict goody bags made the launch party a night to remember. If you didn’t make it to the launch party, you now have no excuse to see what the buzz is all about.

Come witness it for yourself!

How to Read a Watch

“When someone asked me for the time, I got nervous trying to figure out a watch, so instead I looked at my cellphone.”

When picking up a watch for the first time, you may be thrown off by all of the numbers, and decide that it’s going to be too much work to figure out, but before you put it down take a moment to learn how to read it. Learning how to read a watch is not only easy, but it is a learning experience. Before you know it, you will be dazzling around time.

I know this because I now work for one of New York’s trendiest watch companies, EOS New York. My first test from the Big Boss, was to test my knowledge on reading time. I thought to myself, this is going to be complicated. Well I was wrong. I have never been a watch person, but was taught otherwise. I learned how to read time. I wear a watch every day now and I don’t have to rely on my phone to tell time.

After learning some tips on reading time, I now dazzle around time and never leave home without my watch. Before we get into reading time we must first learn about watches. The image we have here is a time piece educator. It is made up of different components; you have the case, where you will read the time from, the stylish band, the crown on the side of the face (that allows you to adjust the time), and the three major hands on the case that will inform you of what the time is.
Your three important hands on a watch are the hour hand, the minute hand, and the second hand. The hour hand is always the shorter hand, the minute hand is the longer hand, and the hand that indicates the seconds is always ticking at every second. Inside the case we have a set of numbers that represent hours and minutes. The starting point is always set on the top number. As you go around you can see the numbers 1-12. Between each number there is a 5min interval. Count by 5s from the starting point, clockwise until you’re back at the starting point. You will realize that there are 60 minutes that make up an hour. The same goes for minutes, there are 60 seconds in 1 minute. As the minute hand moves all the way around the clock, the hour hand moves from one hour to the next. For example, in image 1, you can see that the minute hand is in between the number 7 and the number 8, therefore the hour hand will be in between the 3 and the 4 making the time 3:38pm.

Once you have that down packed you can start playing with the crown and practice adjusting the hands to set the time. Be ready to not only be wearing a trendy watch, but to also be a pro in reading time.

MAGIC FALL'09

Forget fashion week in Paris and New York. Las Vegas was fashion central for 3 major days! The Magic Trade Show is the biggest fashion event worldwide. It is exclusively held for buyers, stylists, and suppliers, but you can catch celebrities like Grammy award winner Common, hip hop icon Russell Simmons, actor Charlie Sheen, comedian Chris Tucker, and hip hop producer Jermaine Dupree. Thousands come to view the world’s top contemporary, street wear, casual, active, footwear, and accessory designers. The fashion event took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from February 17-19.

EOS New York took part at the Fall 09 Magic trade show, but under a new fashion brand, Caseology. The new fashion brand specializes in licensing trend brands such as, Tokidoki, Pan Am, the premier of David and Goliath, and EOS New York. The Big Boss of Caseology is apart of the board of advisor's of S.L.A.T.E.(select, lifestyle, apparel, trend, emergence) under Magic. This is S.L.A.T.E second season showcasing established and emerging skate, surf, and street lifestyle brands at Magic. What is usually a smashing turn out at Magic, this year was a far less wave of people due to the economy being so bad. But the event still made it worth being apart of. It is the best way to remind people that you are still here, and you still have what it takes to bring people the latest fashion trend.

Magic’s next fashion event, showcasing Spring 2010 collections is expected to be bigger and full of surprises!

Diztrict Store Launch

As we all know Bleecker street is the center of everything glam. From its surrounding stores, best restaurants, to it’s A-list celebrities. Bleecker Street is the place to be! I am excited to be one of the lucky few to witness the transformation from the EOS New York store, to the Diztrict store. Just a few blocks away from Marc Jacob and Magnolia Bakery, Diztricts’ new launch is going to be the best place you just have to visit! Walking by, what currently is the EOS New York store, you seem to notice something is missing, and that something is a place where once you step foot you feel a sense of rush, from the hottest brands to the latest trends.

Diztrict is going to be a multi-branded accessory store, carrying; Diesel, Tokidoki, Pan Am, Kid Robot, Nooka, Modern Amusement, and EOS New York to name a few. Some cool products you can expect to see is the return of Pan Am airline, as a fashion brand creating passport covers. Making your traveling experience easier and fashionable all at once. EOS New York’s Mixtape watch, a futuristic Nooka Zen watch, that is different from anything you’ve ever seen and Kid Robot’s Tarina Tarintino rings that are fun and untraditional.

If you live, love, and breathe for fun shopping experiences as I do, then Diztrict’s new launch is definitely a dream come true. No longer would you have to go from store to store to find all the hottest accessories. March 18 will officially mark the birth of Diztrict to Bleecker street.

Come and be the first to check out what Diztrict is all about!

Coming soon EOS Mixtape!

EOS Concept Mixtape in Beige

EOS is bringing the 80s back retro style. The latest edition to the EOS watch family is the Mixtape. So for all you music lovers, this will be THE watch to represent. The Mixtape is definitely a watch that will make heads spin. It is one of the hottest watches I have seen from the EOS collection. What is awesome about this watch is that it has two spinning disks in the inside of the case, and the right disk actually tells the time. It definitely is a watch that I will wear to show off my retro style. The colors are easy to match with. It comes in orange, beige, black, and in black and white. My favorite is the beige one because it will look good with a nice tan in the summer time. If you’re like me, and you always need something to spunk up an outfit, then I strongly recommend the Mixtape. It is an accessory that will be crucial to complete an 80s look. Expect to see the Mixtape in stores this Spring and be one of the trendiest people rocking one. I can’t wait until it hits Diztrict because I definitely will be buying one.
